She is a 10-year-old girl in Grade 5 and a sibling to Elimlim Macharia and four others. Their parents abandoned them and the small house they used to live in burnt down leaving them with no one to provide care

St. Steven's Children's Home started in 2002 as a faith-based children's charitable Institution. It was the brainchild of Mrs. Esther Mwiti, a retired Nurse and Nutritionist.

The project is located in Timau Township, Meru Central District in Kenya's Eastern Province, East Africa. St. Steven's Children's Home is affiliated to Kids Alive Kenya a Faith  Led Organisation working to improve the lives of disadvantaged children. The Home's sponsorship is under Mt. Kenva Bible Baptist Mission Nanyuki.
